purpose of this site is to
gather my things about
geocaching, at a central location.
My name is Torben
Pedersen, born in
1958, I cache with the name Lyngerup.dk.
Why Lyngerup.dk? Well
when I was signing up
to geocaching
I had to find a name
really quickly.
I wanted to use my
initials (TAP), but that name
was taken, so
instead I used the name of
the small village where I lived at
that time.
In may 2021 I moved to another little village (N55° 42.422' E011° 21.960' )
Since I travel some abroad, I also think the country code should be included, so .dk. At the same time it is the name of my website, I saw this as an additional plus.
It all started with my mother and one of her friends, used geocaching to get out and get some air and exercise. My mother was then 76 years old. She told about these trips and how much fun it was. When she told me that you had to have an electronics device (GPS) and had to use Internet and transfer data between network and GPS, then I became curious. It's a man thing and I am maybe a little bit a gadget freak.
My weight had gradually crept up there where you no longer use kilograms, but 1/10 tons, so the wife (lp.dk) thought that this might be a way to get me out and do some exercise, which she was right in . When I had found my first cache, I was sold.
Since then, in February 2010, it has become many fun experience in 39 different countries across 4 continents. We use geocaching in a lot when we are abroad, to see areas and places we would otherwise never have come or seen.
